Relaunching Lodesignz!

It’s been a journey…

In 2015 LoBagz was born.  Lo’s gift of freehand sketching and painting gave her the inspiration to hand paint personalised canvas bags.  With an eye for detail and a love of animation Lo turned photos of family and friends into cartoon versions of themselves.  These became very popular and in 2016, recognising that she could possibly earn a ‘bit of extra pocket money’ Lo started attending The Teenage Market in her local area and successfully began to sell her personalised canvas bags to a wider audience.

In 2017 Lo’s first clothing collection #blackgirlsrock was launched.  6 characters were brought to life in the form of Alayiah, Breanna, Chantae, Elquisha, Garishia & Melika.

These designs would form Lo’s staple designs for the next 12 months and she started attending events around Birmingham where she quickly became a regular vendor at popular events around Birmingham such as Return to Your Roots, the Black History Book Launch and Fest4All and quickly became known for her unique style of graphic designs for t-shirts & hoodies.

Wrap it Up & My Little Black Book quickly followed, allowing her to branch out in stationary in the form of notebooks and journals.

On finishing school in 2018 Lo was also recognised for her business acumen and received Sandwell Academy’s Business Enterprise Award, sponsored by Tarmac.

In 2019 Lo completed First Class Legacy’s Street Smart to Business Start Programme in association with the Prince’s Trust and in that year Sabrina Dennis, CEO from FCL nominated Lo for the Roy Anthony Reid Creative Ability Award which she also won.

In the Summer of 2020 Lo completed 2 years at Birmingham Ormiston Academy which coincided with the UK lockdown and made the decision not to go to university but to to set up as a freelance graphic designer.

Lo's journey has only just begun.
